What if...

What if you could dream a dream so big that no one could believe in it but you? What if you cared less about what others thought and did more of what makes you happy?
What if you let go of fears and gave way to hope and love and laughter?
What if you remembered to be more like the person you wanted to be when you were 5?
What if you dared to let go of your past failures and set forth on a new journey?
What if you never gave up when the odds seemed to be 100% against you?
What if you finally realized your potential and ran to it, full force?

If we dared to dream, without boundaries, if we gave in to our seemingly impossible visions, if we spread our wings and dared to soar, how unstoppable we would be!

Nice Guys Finish Last

Well, well, well!! It has been a long 2 years since I've posted anything to my blog, and in that time A LOT has changed! We've moved and started a new journey in a not so new place, but definitely under different circumstances and with 3 little people this time =) We are back in the place we met, Charleston, SC. Anyway, I have recently felt inspired to start blogging again, so many things going on and of course in true blogger fashion, I must share them all with my readers.

I recently had a conversation with an old friend about life, love, and work. At the very end he said to me, "They say nice guys finish last, and its so true". It is true, in this world the majority of people are looking out for themselves with no regard for anyone else's feelings. They are in short, selfish. We can blame parents, we can blame celebrities, we can blame society, but in the end people are people. They are responsible for their own actions, and also accountable for them. Nice guys may finish last in most areas, but I believe that no good deed goes unnoticed. I refuse to change who I am as a person just because I may end up hurt, or with the short end of the stick.

In this life, we only get one chance to leave our legacy, to make our mark on this world. I can guarantee you, not a single person on their death bed has said "I should have been more mean", or "I should have been more selfish", and if they have I'm just glad I didn't know them lol. Our purpose in life is to help others, it is easy to live for yourself, but the real accomplishment in life is to live a selfless life, to give yourself to others, to use your talents to help others. What good would any invention or discovery be if they had never been shared with the rest of the world? Nice guys may finish last most of the time, but I would rather die from saving someone else, than to live with the guilt of saving myself instead.
